Iraq opens consulate in Urmia

altTEHRAN – Iran’s Cabinet accepted Iraqi Foreign Ministry’s request to establish a consulate in Urmia, the capital of West Azerbaijan Province.

 The establishment of an Iraqi consulate office in Urmia will impact upon the expansion of political, cultural, economic and trades cooperation between West Azerbaijan and the Iraqi Kurdistan. Iran has consulates in Iraqi cities of Najaf, Erbil and Sulaymaniyah.
